Venus (4 sub-boards) Venus, Earth's virtual sister planet, as a population of 500 million people, mostly of African and Arab descent.
Venus is also the site of some fuel production that is used by almost all ships in the system.
The planet is 7-13 hours from Earth by way of Phase Gate. It is notable for the immense floating plants (which produce much of the breathable oxygen) and for the spore "snow" from these same plants.
Venus has a lot of helium in it's atmosphere, so without a pill to cure the side effects, you'll end up sounding like a certain mouse when you speak.
When you travel to Venus, the first thing you'll notice are the great islands floating above the ground. Plants for terraforming are cultivated on these islands. When the plants are in bloom, spores fall down from the sky like snow. But don't be too taken with the beauty of a shower of downy spores, because in some unfortunate souls they produce an allergic reaction that can cause more than a bit of sneezing from Terran hayfever. If left untreated can cause blindness or even death. The only known cure for this in a very rare and valuable plant called ‘Gray Ash”.
Earth (2 sub-boards) Back in the day, an accident occurred during the construction of a jump gate, which left the Earth in a ravaged state. Large populated cities are no more and nothing but debris is left in many parts of the world.
The Earth is now surrounded by a ring of satellites and the shattered moon. Since the jump gate accident 50 years ago, which drastically changed the climate, the people of the Earth migrated underground. Moon rocks fall randomly to the Earth. For these underground Earthlings, the thick ring of satellites or the 'Space Network' is necessary for them to stay in contact with those living in space.
Earth has a population of 200 million people. The surface is covered with extensive ruins, a result from the orbital bombardment of moon chunks. Most people live underground, although there are those surface dwellers who search the abandoned towns and cities for useful scrap.
As the saying goes, nothing of value is produced on the Earth these days.
Mars (14 sub-boards) If you're rich, you'll want to go to Mars. That's the place for the beautiful people and high culture. And of course there is also the wretchedly poor -- but if you're rich enough, you won't see them.
Mars is also the seat of organized crime in the solar system. You want to find something on the black market, you'll find it here. You want to fence ill-gotten booty, then this is your place. If you want illegal drugs or "adult" magazines or to simply get lost in the crowd, then you want to be on Mars.
Mars is the height of the scientific and medical community, as there are plenty of the beautiful who wish to stay that way and plenty of the criminal element who want to change their identity. The majority of the cities are built inside huge craters and canyons.
Although Mars only has a population of 300 million or so (mostly Chinese, with a mix of Indian, Russian, a few European and various Asian races), it is the business and cultural center of the solar system. Mars is 13-24 hours from the Earth by way of Phase Gates and serves as the gateway to the outer solar system.
Cities are built on Mars by placing them in large craters and then running an air curtain around the rim to keep the atmosphere in and the cold out. Most cities on Mars are a mixture of styles, and look a lot like either Hong Kong or New York.

Tijuana (4 sub-boards) Tijuana is one of many asteroids in the belt; TJ is always pounded by large meteors. Inside is an interstellar habitat, with only one entrance and exit gate. A dome-shaped mirror reflects sunlight, and plants are native only to the colony.
The races of people found there is a jumble of folks from everywhere. The streets are most like South and Central America, but the mixture of races and languages is a whole different story.
And beyond the choice of planets and moons, you have space stations that offer anything from a rest stop for truckers to casinos. Great party place. Moderator: Diana

Titan (3 sub-boards) Titan has a population of around 30 million people. It is around 4-7 days from Earth by Phase Gate.
Titan is part of a commonwealth made of up the moons of Saturn and is the scene of much fighting between commonwealth forces and forces from the rest of the solar system.
